By now you must have read about Hania Aamir and Asim Azhar’s absolutely adorable ramp walk at FPW last night. As Hania walked down in Zainab Chottani’s showstopper red bridal, Asim sang live, all the time keeping eye contact and just oh so cute.
If you haven’t seen it yet, you must ask yourself what you’re doing in life.
As I kept watching this video, I couldn’t escape this nagging feeling that I had seen an outfit similar to this one before.
Then, suddenly, it hit me!
The type of kaam on PC’s jora and on the one Hania wore at pretty similar at a glance.
Of course, the closer you look, the more you see the differences. The kaam on both joras is what makes our mind believe that they are similar, however, the differences are there, for sure. Sabyasachi’s outfit has consistently small motifs across the lehnga, however, Zainab alternates between small and big motifs and also mixes in lacework on her outfit.
This doesn’t take away from how gorgeous the Zainab Chottani piece is.
The details towards the end of the jora are simply breathtaking.
Not to forget the detailing on the dupatta. These elements just go to show hard work and effort Zainab Chottani, and many designers like her put into her designs.
I wasn’t alone in thinking that the Sabya number and Zainab’s design were similar.
Again, all I’m saying is that, at first glance, I was convinced the dresses were really similar, but as I looked on, I could see that were different. Each designer has clearly worked hard created these masterpieces. Also, when it comes desi bridals, there is always bound to be some overlap, of course, blatant copying does occur, but this is not a case of it.
